Minister's Youth Council: Alberta Education
All junior and senior high students in Alberta are invited to apply to be part of the Minister’s Youth Council!
Students on the Minister's Youth Council will provide their perspectives to the Minister and Alberta Education on educational issues. The education system exists to prepare Alberta students for success, and the decisions that affect them need to include their voice. The best way for this to happen is to have students at the table.
Each year, approximately 32 students with diverse interests, identities, backgrounds and perspectives from all across Alberta will be selected to participate as partners in contributing to our education system.
As council members, students will meet three times during the school year in September, February, and May, to discuss issues that matter to students and education partners. There will be opportunity for the students to interact with each other outside of meetings to discuss ideas and upcoming activities. The deadline for applications is May 5, 2017.
